What is PitLaneLabs?
It Started with a Kart
PitLaneLabs is family-owned and run by the German-American Trommer family, and like most good car stories, ours started in a garage.
Vincent was about 10 when he and his father Gunnar first went go-karting. What began as a weekend hobby at the local K1 Speed, quickly turned into something more serious: the two ran as a driver/mechanic duo in pro karting, specifically in the shifter kart class, with Vincent finding success in several championships, both nationally and internationally. At 18, Vincent chose a 1991 Miata as his first car. Together, father and son tore it down to the bones and rebuilt it in their garage, overhauling everything from suspension to chassis to multiple engine iterations. Like in karting, success was found across countless events.

The Importance of Community
But what stuck from those days weren't just the results. It was the people. Every step forward came from someone else in the paddock: a tool borrowed at midnight, a setup tip from a competitor with no reason to share it, a lead on a part from a guy who knew a guy. That community handed us mentors, friends, and a standard for how to treat people.
This connection with the automotive community is continuing to grow, meeting many great people and making even better memories. Car meets with the whole family. Friends filling the driveway on weekends. Late-night canyon convoys. Early-morning departures to the racetrack.
